
What is Hunger?
Hunger is an unpleasant or painful bodily experience produced by inadequate nutritional energy intake. When a person does not consume enough calories (dietary energy) on a regular basis to live a normal, active, and healthy life, it becomes chronic. The Prevalence of Undernourishment indicator has been used by the FAO to quantify the amount of hunger across the world for decades, therefore "hunger" can also be referred to as "undernourishment."

What is Malnutrition?
Malnutrition is a disorder that occurs when the body lacks the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients it need to keep its tissues and organs healthy. People who are either undernourished or over nourished suffer from malnutrition.
Consequences of Malnutrition:
People in every country are affected by malnutrition. Overweight people account for 1.9 billion adults globally, whereas underweight individuals account for 462 million. Overweight or obese children account for 41 million children under the age of five, with 159 million stunted and 50 million wasted. The 528 million women of reproductive age who are anaemic across the world (or 29 percent) add to this burden, with nearly half of them responding to iron supplementation.
Many families cannot afford or obtain enough nutritious foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, legumes, meat, and milk, whereas foods and beverages high in fat, sugar, and salt are cheaper and more readily available, resulting in a rapid increase in the number of overweight and obese children and adults in both poor and wealthy countries. It is not uncommon to discover undernutrition and obesity in the same neighborhood, home, or even individual - for example, it is conceivable to be overweight and micronutrient deficient.
What is a psychological trauma?
Psychological trauma, also known as emotional trauma, is when the psyche is damaged or injured as a result of experiencing a terrifying or unpleasant incident, and can lead to difficulties in functioning or coping normally following the occurrence.

How can suffering from hunger and malnutrition contribute in creating a psychological trauma among children?
Early-life malnutrition can lead to a lack of social responsiveness, a lack of interest in the surroundings, and poor emotional development by the time a child reaches school age.
What is the percentage of Jordanian children having symptoms of trauma caused by hunger or malnutrition?
